At Montessori on the Mountain, located on Hamilton's East Mountain, we provide authentic, high-quality Montessori education for young children in a safe, nurturing, and thoughtfully prepared environment. Our mission is to support the development of the whole child — academically, socially, emotionally, and physically — during the most important early years of life.

As highly trained Montessori educators and child development specialists, we take a child-centred approach to learning. We guide each child toward independence, confidence, concentration, and a lifelong love of learning through hands-on, meaningful work.

We believe that strong partnerships with parents are essential to a child’s success. By working openly and collaboratively with families, we create a consistent and supportive foundation between home and school.

Montessori on the Mountain was founded by Jamie, an AMI-trained Montessori educator with a deep love for children and a profound commitment to authentic Montessori education. What began as a lifelong dream quickly became a calling — to create a nurturing, high-quality Montessori school for young children and families in our community.
​
As both a trained Montessorian and a parent, Jamie understands firsthand how critical the early years are in shaping a child’s independence, confidence, and love of learning. She envisioned a Montessori environment that she would proudly choose for her own children — one rooted in respect, warmth, academic excellence, and true adherence to Montessori principles.
​
In response to the growing need for quality childcare and authentic Montessori programs, Montessori on the Mountain was established to offer families access to a thoughtfully prepared environment guided by highly trained educators. Here, children are supported academically, socially, and emotionally through hands-on learning and individualized guidance.

Jamie’s mission extends beyond the classroom. She is deeply committed to supporting parents, strengthening the local community, and educating families about Montessori philosophy and child development. Montessori on the Mountain is more than a school — it is a collaborative community where children are nurtured, parents are valued, and lifelong learning begins.

The triangle within our brand symbolizes strength, balance, and stability. In nature, the triangle is one of the strongest structural shapes, distributing force evenly across all sides. Montessori on the Mountain is a family-owned and operated Montessori school, where a small, close-knit community meets big dreams. We are dedicated to creating a warm, nurturing environment where children can thrive and families feel fully supported in the joys and challenges of raising young learners.
